The same is true for adults. Think about it, there's no way you're going to learn a foreign language if you don't have the desire. You can be thrown into some of the best classrooms and programs but will have a hard time grasping the information until you're actually interested and motivated.
Louie's Little Lessons sole focus is to ignite curiosity and motivation when it comes to facing change (then, the technicalities can be taught whichever way you chose), however, the first and most challenging step is establishing the correct mindset. We hope to help your child find the right mindset and courage for years to come.

meet the mom behind the book

I'm Liz, mom of 2 awesome kiddos, Madison (4) and Owen (3). With a 3rd on the way, I decided I needed to solve a problem that I was facing as a parent (besides lack of sleep and my growing yoga pants collection).
I started Louie’s Little Lessons because my husband and I have struggled to find children’s books that help with the many transitional phases our kids have been faced with while growing up.
Whether moving to a big-kid bed, potty training or trying new food, we found that the books available were either too instructional or hard for our children to relate to. I needed books to help motivate my children to embrace change because it looks fun!
In Louie’s Little Lessons, we solve this by having our adorable Louie conquer milestones through adventure and curiosity. He embraces change by finding his courage within. This is an important concept to teach at a young age, as we hope to find strength within ourselves for a lifetime.

Transitioning to a 'Big Kid Bed' is a huge developmental milestone, what an exciting time! With this excitement comes some fear and we're here to help.
In the book, A Big Kid Bed is Coming, we teach your child the following concepts through Louie's adventures:
- The importance of trying something new.
- That our courage lies within ourselves and we can access it at any time.
- The importance and benefits of curiosity and being open minded.
- Overcoming new challenges can often lead to even more fun and adventure!
- The importance of being well rested and staying in bed until morning time.

- That sleep is very important for everyone and allows us to have more fun when we're awake.

Playtime: Follow Louie through his playtime fun, you never know what you're going to find in his backyard!
Courage: Louie remembers that he's a superhero and digs deep for his courage. "What am I so afraid of" he thinks. "This bed looks fun! Let's go!"
Happiness: Louie remembered to stay in bed "until the morning sun. He's no longer tired or sleepy and his days are filled with fun."
Change: Louie has been tired lately because he's outgrown his crib, imagine his surprise when he finds a new bed in his room.
Adventure. What amazing adventures await when Louie closes his eyes! He becomes a pirate, an astronaut and even goes on a magic carpet ride.
Victory: He did it! "Change can be exciting, Louie's glad he tried something new. He sure loved his big kid bed. And you know what? You will too!"
